About me

I'm Josh Putman — a creative technologist and team leader based in Austin, Texas.

I've spent over a decade in visual media, working my way from hands-on production into operations and team leadership. These days I manage a distributed team of up to 15 producing architectural photography, drone capture, video, and 3D scanning across multiple markets—everything from creative direction to scheduling, QA, and process design. Before that, I spent years behind the camera shooting commercial real estate, aerial imagery, and 3D tours at volume, and earlier built and ran an in-house production studio from the ground up. I hold a BFA in Photography and an FAA Part 107 certification.

Lately, a lot of my energy goes into building. I create internal apps that streamline my team's workflows, and I use AI as a tool across my own projects—from WIRE, a news aggregator, to Modforge, a Eurorack design tool, to AI-driven video work. It's the same instinct that's always driven me: making things that didn't exist the day before.

Outside of all that, I'm into 3D printing, modular synthesis, and robotics—usually with a soldering iron or a 3D printer running somewhere nearby.
